Geometry - the language and science of patterns

Welcome to 1st block (spring 2009) Honors Geometry!

This course is designed as an introduction to the exciting and beautiful world of geometry. Geometry is everywhere you look, in nature, art, architecture, and the computer games you play. You are more familiar with geometry than you think!

There are two primary goals for this course:

• Explore and develop a beginning mastery of geometry
• Develop study skills necessary to succeed in high school and college

Why the focus on study skills? I think the following quote says it all:

If you give a man a fish, you fed him for a day.
If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.
