How to setup your Twitter account

I'm sure you can figure this out on your own...but just in case, here are all the details. :)

Create a Twitter account:

1. Go to www.twitter.com
2. Click Join the conversation!
3. ...answer the questions
4. ...click Create my account
5. ...you can skip all the See if your friends are on Twitter steps...
6. You should now be at your Twitter homepage!

Now you need to find me and "follow" me:

1. From your Twitter home page, click the Find people link at the top.
2. In the "Find people. Follow them" page, click the Find on Twitter tab.
3. In the "Who are you looking for?" search box, enter MrTsGeometry.
4. Click the Follow button.
5. You are now following me and will get updates everything I "tweet".

Now you need to register your cellphone:

1. At the bottom of your Twitter home page should be a What to do now list.
2. Click the Turn on your mobile phone link.
3. Enter your cellphone number in the box...
   • including your area code
   • put "+1" at the start ... this is the country code for the U.S.
4. Check the It's okay for Twitter to send txt messages to my phone checkbox option.
5. Click Save
6. You will be shown a code on the next page...text that code to 40404.
7. You now need to wait for Twitter to validate your number...you'll get a text when it is done.

Just one more step to take! Active your phone to follow me:

1. Text "on" to 40404.
2. Text "follow MrTsGeometry" to 40404.
3. ...please note those are two separate text msgs...

One final step:

1. Go to your settings page, Account tab and click the Protect my updates checkbox option.
2. ...doing this should protect you from random people trying to contact you.

You should be good to go! You'll now start to get assignment updates as text messages, usually one a day.
