Algebra - the language of unknown quantities

Welcome to Honors Algebra 2!

Algebra is something you use all the time and likely you aren't aware of it at all. It's the mathematical language of unknown quantities. With algebra, you can describe and predict relationships about money, population, temperature, size - anything that uses numbers.

This course has two primary goals:

• Provide a complete study of second-year honors algebra skills and concepts
• Develop study skills necessary to succeed in high school and college

Why the focus on study skills? I think the following quote says it all:

If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.
If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.
